EUR

EUR is a peculiar and unexpected suburb of Rome. A few kilometers from airports and train stations, with which it is well connected by a large local transport system, the EUR district is 5 metro stops from the historic center of Rome and it offers the most possibilities for accommodation, entertainment.

Designed in the 1930s, EUR was intended for a Universal Exhibition of Rome from which the acronym took its name. The universal exhibition never took place due to the beginning of the Second World War and the complex was completed in the following decades, modifying & expanding the original project.

All designs were created in accordance to the Italian movement of “Rationalist Architecture” rules, an architectural style that is unique to Italy, combining the classical aesthetic of Ancient Rome: exaggerated proportions of grand, supreme size that imposes powerful memories to anyone.
